At the beginning of the second quarter, Ben Zima was wide open in the corner, took an inbound pass from #12, and hit a three to go up 12-10. Montini Catholic responded with a three of their own, but Sahi struck again from deep to make it a 15-13 lead for the Raiders. Just moments later he sank another three to put the Raiders up 18-13. Glenbard South made it a 30-21 game on a fast break reverse layup by PJ Lehr with 1:45 left in the half. Sahi had a pair of blocks with less than a minute left, including one as time was expiring, and I was a 30-24 lead for the Raiders.

The Raiders were able to hold on for a 51-44 win, thanks to solid shooting all night. They were 45% from the floor and 45% from three, holding Montini Catholic to 28% and 18% from three. Montini Catholic had a 33-30 rebound advantage, and 9-3 in steals, but Glenbard South led 14-12 in assists and 3-1 in blocks.

Sahi had 22 points to lead all scorers, while Erickson had 10 points.

“Good team win with a lot of effort,” said Glenbard South Coach Jason Mead.
